Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is a small episodic puzzle title being released for the PS Vita, the puzzles range from variations of the classic “Lights Out” games to some more lateral thinking puzzles.
Each puzzle is worth Merit points which go down in number for failed attempts.
but on top of that some puzzles also reward the players with trophies for completing them in a certain number of moves, one of these is a puzzle called Pack Mentality, Jacob is tasked with removing his backpack from the trunk of the car and ensuring that everything else goes back in with no problems.
You can easily do this puzzle in 9 moves, but the trophy requires that you complete it in 8, if like me, you got very frustrated with this tessellation puzzle, then fear not as the solution is now available on this very page (I figure you would have guessed at that based on the title but, what the hell?)

Here’s the start of the puzzle, it should be noted that you can only do this in the minimum number of moves by moving only 3 of the items in the trunk, before we start, remember that every time you take your finger off of an item (regardless of how far you moved it) it counts as a move.
For your first move, you have to move the backpack up one space like so;

This then allows the pink item to move over to the left;

From there you can then move the longest piece of baggage down and out of the way (placement is important)

Then, so that you can get the backpack out, shift the pink item out of the way too;

Now we can get the backpack out of the trunk, but in order to stick to the move limit, placement is once again very important;

This allows for the pink item to be shifted back into the trunk, without having to move any of the other items around;

Then it’s simply a case of moving the backpack totally out of the trunk by shifting it down to the right;

As you can see we are now on 7 moves, for the final move, just return the long item back into the trunk and you’ve done it! Pack Mentality completed in 8 moves! Quick Packer trophy unlocked!
If you’ve found this useful and would like to see something similar with some of the other puzzles, just leave a note in the comments box, if I can find a way to do it and show how it’s done, I’ll put up another post.
